The ensemble

The Trondheim ensemble Schola Sanctae Sunnivae is one of the few ensembles that takes care of Gregorian chant linked to Nidaros and Norwegian medieval history. The ensemble has so far initiated restoration and documented large parts of the Gregorian material which has been preserved from Nidaros and which is now located at the Royal Library in Copenhagen.

The ensemble consists of 12-14 trained female singers at a high level. Since the start in 1992, Anne Kleivset has been conductor and artistic director. In 2009, the ensemble was appointed as a pilgrim choir associated with Nidaros Pilgrimsgård.

Scholaen's activities for almost 30 years have resulted in five CD productions, as well as participation in a number of smaller and larger releases.
